Making pumpkin pie is such a simple process that I’m very confident that anyone, regardless of experience, can do it. All you will do is combine the filling ingredients, pour the mixture into the pie crust, and bake. It’s that easy!

Serving Amount

Our recipe yields 8 to 10 slices from a 9-inch pie. This amount can do for a family dessert after dinner or brunch, anything that brings people together. Everyone will enjoy it so much that it will become the talk of the day.

 Pie Plate – I placed the crust in this for baking.

• Mixing Bowl – a large bowl is required to combine your ingredients for the pie filling.

• Whisk – used to mix the ingredients thoroughly; you can also used a fork for this.


Main Ingredients

The main flavoring ingredient used in this recipe is pumpkin. You can boil and mash it or purchase the canned variety to make life easier. Either way, your pie filling will be amazingly delicious and beautiful in color.



A good substitute for milk in this recipe is powdered milk or evaporated milk. You can use whichever milk you want but be sure to stick to the correct measurement. 

Also, you can substitute cloves with allspice. It gives the same great taste to the pumpkin pie and more.


All ingredients:

• Pie Crust – you can use a homemade or frozen pie crust.

• Pumpkin – used as the main flavoring of the filling.

• Salt – used to enhance the flavor of the pie.

• Milk – added to the filling mixture for moisture and flavor.

4. In a large mixing bowl, add the milk, pumpkin, and eggs, then whisk in all the spices until well blended.

5. Pour the filling into the pie pan but do not fill the dish to the top.

6. Bake for 45-50 minutes in the preheated oven, and watch it closely in the last 10 minutes to prevent burning.

7. Check if the pie is ready by sliding a paring knife into the filling. If it doesn’t come out clean, return it to the oven for a few more minutes, then test it again.

8. Remove the pie and allow it to cool completely before serving.


Why Not Fill The Pie Pan?

Your pie to overflow during baking if you fill the pie pan all the way. I only filled it about three-quarters of the way; This will also prevent you from spilling the filling when transferring the pie to the oven.


How to Check For Doneness

To check if the pie is ready, I pushed a pairing knife into the filling to see if it came out dry. You can also use a toothpick or a skewer as a tester instead of a paring knife. This way, you won’t have an unsightly crack in your pie.



If you do not plan to consume the pie within two hours of baking, you can store the pie in a loosely covered container and refrigerate for up to 4 days. 

You can also freeze the leftover pie for 3 months but bear in mind that the texture may be negatively affected.

  • 1 3/4 mashed pumpkins
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 2/3 cups brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tablespoons white sugar
  • 1 3/4 cups milk
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1 pie crust


  1. Set the oven to 425 degrees F. Roll out the pie dough on a floured-dusted surface, then transfer it to the pie dish.
  2. Roll or crimp the edges of the dough, then set it aside and make the filling.
  3. Whisk to combine the milk, pumpkin, eggs, and all of the spices in a large mixing bowl, until evenly incorporated.
  4. Pour the pumpkin mixture into the pie crust. Fill the crust to about 3/4 the capacity.
